Letting Go of Control: Learning to Follow God’s Lead

Sweet friend,

You’ve found yourself in the middle of this spot that’s tricky to define. There seem to be more questions than answers, and it can be hard when you like to know what to expect.

The control freak inside you wants to lead this in a certain direction, but you’re unable to because that’s not part of the process.

“Process” is a tricky word, isn’t it? It’s so messy and nonlinear. It’s filled with waiting and moments of confusion. Ups and downs fill your days. There are new challenges that arise in the process and new feelings you must constantly address.

Although it can feel like you’re swaying in the wind right now, there’s something beautiful about all this uncertainty. For so long, you have done everything you could to control your steps, but sweet friend, God wants you to take His hand. He wants to lead you exactly where you’re meant to be. I know that none of this makes sense, but I promise He won’t let you down.

As you travel with him on this journey, He’s going to sustain you – just like He always has, but you’re going to see it in a new light. You’re going to be more aware of His presence.

In this time of transition, He has so much to teach you, so much you weren’t ready to learn before. Lean into him. The things He wants to say are important.

I know it feels like so much is stretching you right now, but you’ll grow in ways you can’t even imagine. You’re going to grow in ways that God will use to bless the lives of others and point back to him.

I know this season of transition is not where you’d choose to be, but so much good can come from it.

Trust His process.
