Every morning when Grandpa tries to enjoy his tea, he is visited by a bee who just won’t leave him alone. Grandpa becomes frustrated when he can’t figure out why the bee keeps hanging around. All he wants is to enjoy his morning routine without that pesky bee. His grandson quickly figures out how to solve the problem.

This story is told from the perspective of the young grandson who recounts Grandpa’s morning routine — from putting in his dentures and praying to getting kisses from his dog after stretching his back.

Although this story is written in the form of paragraphs, the narration rhymes as though it were written in poetic stanzas. This book lightly touches on themes of religion as Grandpa spends time in prayer each morning and gives thanks to the Lord for the day he has made.

This humorous story is sure to bring about giggles from young readers. It’s a silly and charming story of a memory shared between a grandpa and his grandson.

Travis Peagler is a unique individual, being the youngest of seven kids, raised partially in low-income apartments on the East side of Dayton, Ohio, until the age of nine. Humble beginnings growing up in a somewhat multi-racial neighborhood gave Travis an inimitable perspective on life at an incredibly young age.

His imagination has always been his outlet. Thinking back to grade-school when he was in an uncomfortable situation or when he didn’t handle conflict well, Travis would always replay the scene again in his mind where things played out the way he wished. An innate defense mechanism, he assumes, which led to the discovery of his extraordinary talent.
