Author Interview with Faith Abraham

I have partnered with The Children’s Book Review and Faith and Sparkle’s World to bring you a special interview with Faith Abraham, the young author of Superhero Faith. Be sure to stick around after the interview for a fun giveaway.

What inspired you to write this book?

Faith: My Mama had cancer in her breast and I’m her Superhero Helper with my sidekick Sparkle.

Delisa: When my mom was diagnosed with cancer, Faith and our rescue dog, Sparkle, took it upon themselves to help her heal. Faith stayed with my mom during this time and she committed to being her helper. Once my mom began recovery, Faith identified herself as a superhero doctor and asked me to share her story.

You are a curious and adventurous girl. Have you ever dreamed of being a superhero?

Faith: I am a superhero. I help people.

Tell us about your grandma. What’s your favorite thing to do with her?

Faith: I love her, more, more, more. We go to the park and feed the birds.

What is one thing you hope children will take away from your story?

Faith: That everyone can be a superhero.

Delisa: As a parent, I hope children continue to dream, imagine, show kindness and respect for each other. I want children to know, their dreams are possible and the little things matter.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to write a story inspired by true events or actual people?

Faith: They should do it.

Delisa: My suggestion is to take that first step forward and begin writing. Focus on writing down your thoughts, the characters, and what you want the audience to remember. There are programs and places that support people who want to write a book or screen play. Take advantage of them when possible. Also, take your time, it’s not a rush.

Do Superhero Faith and her trusty sidekick have any upcoming adventures?

Faith: Yes, Doctor Faith and Astronaut Faith.
