Grace in Our Time of Need

It has been two months since we first received word that schools were going to be temporarily closed due to COVID-19.

My family and I were on our way up to the mountains for a weekend getaway when we got the news, and we had to explain to the girls that they would not be at school for the next two weeks. They were crushed, but they looked forward to the end of those two weeks.

And then those two weeks turned into two months. The school year will now be finished online.

My girls will not get to see their teachers and friends, which breaks their hearts.

So many things have changed over these last couple of months. So many emotions have risen and fallen in my heart.

I had no idea what was going to transpire during this time, and I have no idea how the next two months will look.

This is not the spring I anticipated. I looked forward to many things, but they’ve been put on hold.

If I’m honest, being thrown into a new normal has been difficult. It has had frustrations, and I’ve wrestled with things I never imagined, but through it all, God’s grace has been sufficient.

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 NIV)

It’s his grace that has gotten me through these last couple of months, and I know it will be there as I need it in the future.

No matter what we face, God will be there, and he will strengthen us and carry us through. He will give us a peace that can only come from him, and his grace will always help us in our time of need.
