Sweet girl,
Your four-year-old body doesn’t fit on my lap like it used to.
You’re scrunched up, and your legs dangle over the side of my chair, but I will hold you here as long as you’d like.
Your body isn’t as wriggly as it was a few years ago. Maybe you’re like me and realize these moments are fleeting, and you want to soak them up just like me, so you stay still and snuggle in as close as you can.
I tap your tush like I did when you were a baby, and I’ll hold you here, rocking you to sleep like I used to.
I feel that little hand on my back, and it feels like it was always meant to be there. I never want to forget this.
The smile on your face says you’re as peaceful as me.
Let’s sit here and soak this up because I know another four years will fly by in the blink of an eye.
Beautiful
