I wasn’t particularly looking forward to the chaos of the day that was to come. Things had been crazy for a little while, and it was wearing on me.

As I worked in my office before the kids woke up, I caught a glimpse of the sun rising. My office is on the western side of the house, so I couldn’t see the sun breaking over the horizon, but I saw color stretch across the sky and illuminate the puffy clouds outside my window.

It was peaceful, and the beauty of the natural world felt like a reminder that God had not forgotten me. He saw me right where I was. He saw my frustration and discouragement, and he used something simple to remind me that it was going to be okay. God was by my side through it.

He sees you, friend. No matter what you’re facing today, God is right by your side. He is walking with you, no matter the bends and detours you encounter on your path today.

I pray that God reveals himself to you in a way that whispers to your weary heart that he has not forgotten you.
